Efficient air pass setup for local ventilation

This work is part of the MinMax-Ventilation project, which is government-founded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The project goal is a reduction of ventilation energy demand (minimized energy demand) while maintaining high thermal comfort and air quality for partly occupied venues (maximized ventilation effectiveness).

Optimal thermal comfort is ensured using specific CFD simulations of periphery workstations in a new office building.

Creaform is relocating its headquarters in order to support its continuous growth. Creaform Engineering has drawn on the expertise of its CFD consultants as well as their experience in building airflow simulation in order to analyse their new office environment using  STAR-CCM+®.

Optimization of passenger individual air nozzles

Modern commercial aircraft have sophisticated systems to provide a save, healthy and comfortable environment for the passengers. These systems mostly operate invisible in the background, but the passengers can exert also direct control over their individual thermal environment by adjusting the air flow provided by nozzles in the overhead stowage compartment. Being only an optional system, the individual air nozzles received not much attention in the past and feature a high pressure loss, which are also a cause for flow noise.
